A New Chapter: Headed to Indiana

What drew me here is the chance to build. A performance department is a system of people, standards, and decisions, and I get to shape all three from the ground up: how we train, how we measure, how we communicate, and how the pieces fit together on a daily basis.

A New Chapter: Headed to Indiana

In March, I wrote about closing my chapter at Colorado. Today I can share what came next: I joined the Indiana Fever as their Director of Performance.

After nearly a decade in Boulder, and more than twenty years in collegiate strength and conditioning and sport science, I am stepping into the professional game. The role covers the full performance department: athlete preparation, applied sport science, monitoring, and performance operations, with direct coaching responsibilities alongside the leadership work.

What drew me here is the chance to build. A performance department is a system of people, standards, and decisions, and I get to shape all three from the ground up: how we train, how we measure, how we communicate, and how the pieces fit together on a daily basis.

Colorado shaped how I coach. Wichita State and Michigan State did too. The lessons travel with me: connect the data to the coaching decision, keep the standard high and the communication clear, and remember that the work is ultimately about the athlete in front of you.

This site is not changing. I will keep writing about training, sport science, and coaching leadership, and the Decoding Excellence Show will keep going. If anything, the new vantage point gives me more to think about and more to share.

Onward.
