Stone Update #015 | Better Run, From the Margins
“Stone Updates” is my ongoing, unfiltered journal as I learn electronic music from absolute scratch. Expect messy experiments, rookie mistakes, tiny wins, and lots of self-deprecating humor as I figure out Ableton one chaotic button press at a time.

My Side Quest in Music, Creativity, and Permission to Be a Rookie Again
Learn More About Adam StoneUpdate:
Hey everyone, it’s been a while.
As most of you know, being a house producer isn’t my full-time job. I love it, but it’s a passion project. The Adam Stone Project is where I intentionally put myself back in the beginner’s mindset, learning electronic dance music and house production from the ground up. It stretches me creatively in a completely different way.
My full-time role is as a coach and architect of high performance (a phrase that pisses a lot or purest off). I travel across the country with our Women’s Basketball program, stretching, training, preparing, improving readiness, and handling everything in between. That’s what keeps the lights on. That’s my profession and something I care deeply about.
But in the margins, hotel rooms, flights, long road trips, I explore this music thing.
On our most recent trip to Arizona, I had the chance to finish a track I’ve been working on for the last three weeks. It’s called Better Run. It’s a faster BPM than I usually produce, which made it especially fun to build. I always begin with a reference track, something to loosely shape the energy or structure, and then I wander off and chase whatever sound pulls me in. This one took on a life of its own.
I had a lot of fun creating it, and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making it.

But somehow, I’ve found my people.
And to those of you who’ve been following this project, thank you. The encouragement, the streams on Spotify and Apple Music, the shares, the messages, it all goes further than you probably realize. I started this project just to make music I’d want to listen to in my own headphones. I didn’t expect it to resonate.
But somehow, I’ve found my people.
If you’ve listened, supported, or shared a kind word, thank you. It means more than I can say.

Remember, this page is less about perfection and more about permission — to explore, to create, to begin again. Welcome to the side quest.
