Stone Update #009 Shipped Beats Perfect

“Stone Updates” is my ongoing, unfiltered journal as I learn electronic music from absolute scratch. Expect messy experiments, rookie mistakes, tiny wins, and lots of self-deprecating humor as I figure out Ableton one chaotic button press at a time.

Stone Update #009 Shipped Beats Perfect

My Side Quest in Music, Creativity, and Permission to Be a Rookie Again

Learn More About Adam Stone

Update:

It is published. It is out there. Is it perfect? No. It probably never will be, because I am nowhere near holding myself to that standard yet. What it is, though, is shipped. I learned from it. I applied a few new techniques since the last release.

Those lessons are coming with me into the next one.

Did I go a little too hard on the reverb? Probably. After listening back again, I also think the mastering could have been more evenly normalized. Live and learn. That is part of the deal right now.

This track leans more aggressive and techno than my usual Tech House comfort zone. It was fun to push outside the lines and experiment with different sounds and energy. That said, I am looking forward to the next single swinging back toward familiar territory.

More reps. More learning. On to the next.
