Stone Update #008 The Humbling Saga of a Re-Release
“Stone Updates” is my ongoing, unfiltered journal as I learn electronic music from absolute scratch. Expect messy experiments, rookie mistakes, tiny wins, and lots of self-deprecating humor as I figure out Ableton one chaotic button press at a time.

My Side Quest in Music, Creativity, and Permission to Be a Rookie Again
Learn More About Adam StoneUpdate:
Ooof. For the first time, I had to re-release a song after submitting it to Spotify, Apple Music, and everywhere else. Once it was out, I knew it could be better. Somewhere in the mixing and mastering process, my vocals got cluttered, muddy, and buried under competing elements.
So I pulled it back. Way back. I stripped down most of the synths and let the vocals step forward. And yeah, I am significantly happier with the result.
Lesson learned. If you have strong vocal tracks, let them shine. Do not overcomplicate percussion and melodies just because you can.
Space matters. Simplicity matters. Clarity matters.
This one was humbling, but necessary. I will carry this forward into the next mix. Which is already in progress because this is fun and I am genuinely loving this creative journey right now.

Space matters. Simplicity matters. Clarity matters.
