Stone Update #006 Delays and Decisions
“Stone Updates” is my ongoing, unfiltered journal as I learn electronic music from absolute scratch. Expect messy experiments, rookie mistakes, tiny wins, and lots of self-deprecating humor as I figure out Ableton one chaotic button press at a time.

My Side Quest in Music, Creativity, and Permission to Be a Rookie Again

Two hours delayed at Denver International Airport on the way to Tempe with the team gives you a choice. You can be a consumer or you can be a creator. Netflix. Scrolling. Noise.
Or making something.
Someone asked me recently why I am doing this. The honest answer is simple. I like creating things. There is real enjoyment in building something from nothing. For some people that joy comes from consuming. For me right now, it comes from making.
So I opened Ableton and kept working on a track I have been refining. If I had to label it, maybe melodic Tech House. I tried applying a few newer lessons instead of defaulting to old habits. Is it better? I am not sure yet.
But it is progress. And at this stage of game, I’m only looking for marginal progress.

That is really all I know how to do. Keep creating. Keep learning. Keep going.
