What’s new, y’all? Welcome to Stone Updates — the messy little corner of the internet where I’m documenting this whole beginner journey into electronic music. If you’ve seen The Adam Stone Project page, you already know what this is: me learning in real time, fumbling, experimenting, breaking things, fixing things, and trying again.
These posts aren’t meant to be profound or polished. They’re quick snapshots of where my head’s at as I figure out Ableton, plugins, and the chaos that is music production. It’s vulnerable, it’s rough around the edges, but that’s the whole point: being a beginner again.
What I’m Learning Right Now
Lately I’ve been diving deep into the world of compression, limiting, and EQ. Like, “watching three YouTube videos at once and still not sure I get it” deep. I grabbed a new plugin pack and it’s been wild hearing how small tweaks completely change a track. Mixing and mastering feel like their own new language; one I’m just starting to sound out; kinda.
Track Update
I’m wrapping up a new track that… honestly? I’m not sure how to describe except that I like it in a weird way. Think Tech House, four-on-the-floor, but with a heavy UK rap influence. It’s chaotic. It’s unexpected. It’s probably not “right.” But I’m loving it.
