## My Side Quest in Music, Creativity, and Permission to Be a Rookie Again

## **Update:**

I swear it is not my goal or intention to release bad music. That said, I do want to release music. **Repeatedly**. Apply lessons. **Move on.** I do not want to sit and obsess over every microscopic detail like I am **Fred Again**. I am not there yet.

What I need is volume. As many at bats as possible. Write. Edit. Publish. Learn. **Then write again.**

With that mindset, I pushed a new song to streaming services. I am excited about it, but if I am being honest with myself, it is not amazing. And that is okay. The biggest gap right now is vocals. I need to seriously level up my vocal chops and start adding more spice and intent to these tracks.

I have been listening to a lot of **Max Styler** and **Mau P** lately, and my arrangement and vocal work are nowhere near their level. **But that comparison comes with context.** They have infinitely more reps than I do.

**More hours. More failures. More songs no one ever heard.**
